1. What is Urban Axe Throwing?

Axe Throwing is a competitive sport where participants throw axes at a targets to try and receive the highest score.

2. Is it safe?

Axe throwing is similar to other target sports, as long as you are participating properly, following instructions and using common sense then everything will be fine.

Each lane is equipped with your very own coach to assure that everyone is sticking to safety requirements. They’ll teach you the proper technique and give you tips to make sure you’re having fun in a safe way.

3. Are food and drinks available?

We have a number of drinks and snacks available for purchase. We will also provide catering options for large events.

4. Alcohol?

Unfortunately, we are not a licenced venue so no alcohol is permitted on the premises.

5. Do you do catering?

For large events we will offer catering options. More info to come!

6. Is Axe Throwing hard?

Anyone can throw an axe! It takes practice to get good at it but that’s what we’re here for. We welcome and encourage players of all skill levels. If you think you’re pretty good, why not try playing in our axe throwing league!

7. What if I’m late?

Public throwing lanes will always start on time as we don't want to keep other players waiting. If you arrive late you may not be allowed to join the lane. This is because it wouldn't be fair to stop the other guests' gameplay in order to give your group the safety guidelines and instructions.

If you have booked a private throwing lane, there isn't an issue if you are late but you will still need to end at the scheduled time.

8. How do I book?

Follow the ‘Book Now’ links and select the number of participants, then select a date, the available times will be displayed. We require a $200 deposit for all private bookings. The rest is paid on the day at $50 per player. Please note that lane minimums are required.

Lane minimums are required and you will be charged a minimum of 8 players. For open sessions you must come in groups of 2 or more and all tickets are purchased prior to arrival.

9. What if people don’t show up on the day?

We understand it can be difficult to organise large group events. Unfortunately, for private lanes you will be charged the minimum of 6 players per lane.

For public throwing lanes, all tickets are paid for in advance and there are no refunds for players that don't show.

10. What do I need to wear?

All participants MUST wear closed shoes! No open toed shoes! If you arrive with open toe shoes you will not be allowed to participate. If you are booking on behalf of a group, please inform the group of this rule or you may become pretty unpopular amongst your friends.

Other than that, whatever you feel comfortable in.

11. Can I come just to watch?

We will allow a limited number of spectators per session.

12. Do you offer refunds?

Unfortunatly we don't offer refunds. Please see our booking terms and conditions.

13. Age Limit?

All participants must be over the age of 18, no exceptions. ID may be required for some participants.

14. Do I need a booking? Short notice bookings? Walk-ins?

We are only open when we have bookings. As such, we require bookings at least 24 hours in advance and can not offer walk-ins. For short notice bookings please message us on Facebook and we’ll try our best to fit you in.

15. Can I bring small children with me?

We ask that you please leave all small children at home. AXXE is an 18+ venue only.

16. Can I bring my own axe?

No, we do not allow any outside axes, throwing knives/blades or any other sorts of throwing weapons.
