Welcome to Monday Madness (League) at Axxe, a competitive and fun axe throwing league!

Q: What is the Axxe League?

A: The Axxe League is a blend of competitive and casual axe throwing sessions held during our Monday Madness nights. It's designed for those who want to experience the thrill of the game in a structured yet flexible environment.

Q. Who is it aimed at?

A: Anyone and everyone (14+) that is keen for axe throwing and to be part of a great social circle.

Q: How does Monday Madness work?

A: Monday Madness is a special event that runs every Monday from 6:45 pm to 7:45 pm, offering half-price axe throwing at $27.50 per person. It’s the perfect opportunity for regular practice, socializing, and friendly competition.

Q: Do I need to commit to every Monday?

A: Not at all! Our league and Monday Madness are built on flexibility. Join us weekly, or drop in whenever you can, there’s no need to commit to every session. To be in the running to win the league, you will need to attend at least 4 sessions.

Q: Is it suitable for beginners?

A: While Monday Madness is open to various skill levels, it’s not recommended for first-time axe throwers (this is because the same level of coaching isn't provided at Monday Madness, although there will be staff available to give tips on the night). We suggest having some experience, whether in a public, private, or combo session at Axxe, as the same level of coaching available in normal sessions is not provided during this event.

Q: How do I register?

A: Registration is required online, via the Axxe website, at least 60 minutes before the event starts. Unfortunately, walk-ins may not be accommodated to ensure a quality experience for all participants. Click the 'Book Now' bottom and follow the prompt to the correct Monday Madness session you want to book for.

Q: Can I use promotions or discounts for Monday Madness?

A: No promotions or discounts apply to Monday Madness. However, gift vouchers are accepted.

Q: What about equipment?

A: All necessary equipment is provided by Axxe. Our priority is your safety and enjoyment, so personal equipment is not allowed.

Q: Are there any age restrictions?

A: Yes, this event is open to everyone aged 14 and over. Players under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Q: What if I'm late or can't make it?

A: Late arrivals will miss out on scores for each match they're late to/miss, with no make-up matches. If you give us 48 hours' notice, we can reschedule your registration to a future week, but sorry, no refunds.

Q: What does 'On Season' mean?

A: 'On Season' refers to the four 8-week periods throughout the year when we track scores for participants in our Monday Madness sessions. During these seasons, every throw counts towards determining the season's champion. The excitement peaks in week 8, with a finals round following the regular 4 rounds to crown the winner for that season. It's the perfect time for those looking to test their skills and compete for the top spot!

Q: And what about 'Off Season'?

A: 'Off Season' is the time outside of the 'On Season' 8-week periods. While scores aren't tracked for seasonal competition during these times, Monday Madness continues every Monday, offering everyone—regulars and newcomers alike—the chance to keep throwing and improving their skills. The 'Off Season' maintains the fun, social atmosphere of our league nights, without the pressure of competition. It's an excellent opportunity for practice, socializing, and simply enjoying the game.

Q: What happens on the night?

A: Every Monday Madness evening kicks off with a warm-up session from 6:45 pm to 7:00 pm, where players can get into the groove with some practice throws. After warming up, we dive into the night's scheduled matches. Each participant will play 4 games against others, with the scores from these games tallied to determine your session score. It's a fantastic way to measure your progress, challenge yourself, and enjoy the company of fellow axe-throwing enthusiasts.

Q: How are season points calculated?

A: Throughout the 'On Season,' your highest 4 session scores are what place you on the leaderboard. This system means that the more sessions you participate in, the better your chances of accumulating a higher overall score. It's all about consistency and showing up - every session is an opportunity to improve your standing and edge closer to being the season's champion.

Q: Are my scores kept on file?

A: Yes, we’re excited to announce that we've recently transitioned to a digital scoring system! This innovation allows us to track every throw, offering you the ability to access a comprehensive record of all your throws. Not only does this help in measuring your improvement over time, but it also adds an extra layer of excitement to your axe-throwing journey. Our player stats website is currently under development, but rest assured, we’ll notify you as soon as it’s ready to go live. Stay tuned!

Q: Do you have food or drinks available?

A: While we do offer a variety of soft drinks and snacks for purchase on-site to keep you energized and hydrated, we understand that you might crave something a bit more substantial. You’re more than welcome to bring in your own food. All we ask is that you consider fellow throwers by ensuring your food isn’t too pungent and is easy to manage without making a mess. This way, everyone can enjoy their experience to the fullest!
